Architectural Technician

Job description

Prospect Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Technician / Architectural Technician to join their Liverpool based team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the main responsibilities will include coordination of Architects and interrogation of architectural layouts and designs, support of the pre-contract application process, submission of building regulations/ NHBC applications and securing all necessary consents to enable projects to commence.

As Technical Technician / Architectural Technician you will be responsible for interdepartmental liaison and support with regard to providing technical information and resolving technical issues. The work will be mainly for volume residential developments, therefore experience within this type of design is critical. You will supervise and manage Architects including sub-contractors and coordinate the information flow between relevant parties, as well as liaising with all relevant external bodies, Consultants and Architects to ensure satisfactory production information and document flow to maximise buildability and value engineering processes.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills and have a detailed knowledge of the SAP, Building Regulations, CfSH, SBD, Lifetime Homes and HQI Standards, with the ability to use AutoCAD. You will have an excellent knowledge of construction and architectural techniques in the residential sector, and a clear understanding of Health and Safety legislation with CDM.

Land Manager

Job description

Prospect Homes is looking to recruit a Land Manager to join their growing team. The work will mainly involve volume residential developments; therefore experience within this sector is essential. Reporting to the Land Director, your main responsibilities will include the identification of land opportunities followed by the co-ordination of the appraisal in order to generate a land offer for submission. Subsequent work will be associated with the purchase and planning process in order to achieve a site start.

The role will include an element of co-ordination of architects and interrogation of architectural designs; support of the planning application process; securing of all necessary consents to enable projects to commence; liaison and support other departments with regard to providing land and technical information and resolving technical issues. An understanding of S106 agreements is essential.

You will need to have excellent IT skills and have a working knowledge of planning and the land acquisition process.

You will be organised, confident and possess excellent communication skills.


Accountabilities

 Identification of land opportunities through the local plan process.

 Liaise with surveyors and land agents in order to ensure all opportunities are forwarded to Prospect Homes.

 Supervision and management of architects and planning consultants.

 Liaison with all relevant external bodies, consultants, architects and solicitors and internal departments to ensure satisfactory production information and document flow to achieve land identification, appraisal and purchase. Support the full land purchase process.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

 A knowledge of land, planning, construction and architectural techniques in the residential sector.

 A knowledge of the legal process in respect of residential land acquisition.

 An understanding of finance and cash-flows.

 Excellent IT skills and environment awareness.  Degree or equivalent in development preferred.


Desirable

 Strong communication and negotiations skills.

 Possess an ability to liaise confidently at all levels.

 Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.

 Must be well presented to ensure a proper and professional image of Prospect (GB) is maintained.

Additional Information

 The Group has offices across the UK and on this basis, there will be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role.

Land Executive

Job description

Prospect Homes have an exciting opportunity for a Land Executive to work with the Land Team to identify and procure new land/development opportunities from initial sourcing, collating sales and technical information, assisting with site valuation and assisting with the legal process through to completion.

As Land Executive you will be responsible for land identification by way of review of Local Plan policies and monitoring planning applications. You will build and maintain a strong rapport with land agents, promoters and owners as well as assisting other departments including technical, commercial and sales as and when required.

With a desire to learn and a develop a rewarding career, the successful candidate will have an understanding of the planning system, the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and be proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You will be results focused with the ability to take ownership of tasks and an excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements. A driving license is required as is the need to attend occasional out-of-hours meetings/events.
