The first residents at a new housing development in Shavington are looking forward to enjoying retirement in their new home.
Alan, 66, and Carol Layton, 62, decided it was the right time to downsize when they retired and found their ideal new home at Orchard Fields, a development currently being built by Prospect Homes off Newcastle Road.
Having previously purchased two new build properties before, the couple know a well-built home when they see one and their high expectations were met by Prospect’s team at Orchard Fields.
They traded their five-bedroom property in nearby Willaston for a four-bedroom detached Brookline home at the development after being particularly impressed by the spacious layout throughout.
Alan said: “The entire team at Prospect Homes, from the sales advisors to the build staff, has been fantastic with us and made our move to Orchard Fields as smooth as possible.
“Moving from Willaston but wanting to stay local, we did a thorough search of both new and second-hand homes in the area, but we couldn’t find anything that matched Orchard Fields’ quality.
“What stood out for us here was just how much house we got for our money, even though we were downsizing. The home has a smart layout, so there’s plenty of space for when we entertain guests or the family.
Jennifer, the Layton’s youngest daughter, accompanied Alan and Carol in their move and is staying with her parents while she saves for a home herself.
The family is now looking forward to welcoming their new neighbours to the development.
Alan said: “Orchard Fields will look lovely once it’s complete and we will hopefully see a strong community form as the development matures.”
Orchard Fields is a development of 28 new homes, ranging from three to four bedrooms in size. A total of eight properties have been made available as affordable housing.
