Scouts honoured to receive developer’s donation

Aug. 17, 2017

A local scout group has been boosted by a donation from housebuilder Prospect Homes.

The 1st Warton Scout Group has secured sponsorship from the developer to run day trips for youngsters in the group’s Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections.

The group is based at the Scout Hut off Lytham Road, just down the road from where Prospect is building its Riversleigh development.

James Crook-Williams, chairman of the 1st Warton Scout Group, said: “Prospect Homes’ sponsorship of the group has given us a fantastic opportunity to take our youngsters on exciting trips away from their usual surroundings, which will be a wonderful experience for them all.

“On behalf of everyone at Warton Scout Group, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Prospect Homes for their generous donation.”

Mark Tew of Prospect Homes said: “I recently had the pleasure of attending Warton Scout Group’s summer barbecue and it was great to have the opportunity to meet the group’s young people and volunteers.

“We are proud to be supporting the group and we are thrilled that our donation will enable it to put on day trips for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to enjoy."
